Thumbnail For Excerpts

Thumbnail for excerpts

If you’re looking for a plugin to automatically create a thumbnail for your excerpt, try this one. As with other plugins we test on this site, we are not associated with the plugin author.

Thumbnail for Excerpts is described by the author as: “Thumbnail For Excerpts search the post for the first image. If exists, than it will search for the thumbnail created by default by WordPress for the image, if it was uploaded from WP administration area. If not, it will show the image itself, but of course, scaled…”

The thumbnail of this post was generated using this plugin.

Excellent for news sites or other sites like photoblogs.

Why bother write articles if you can grab them from other blogs?

The FeedWordPress plugin is so powerful to put content on to your own blog that all you have to do is write the RSS feed links onto your site and the article will be published on your blog.

Unlike other RSS feeds, FeedWordPress writes the articles onto your own database. For those familiar with the workings of article directories, the FeedWordPress does what article marketing distributors do.

You can populate a website with articles in no time at all by simply “subscribing” to RSS feeds of other sites.

Plugin author Charles Johnson describes its work as: “FeedWordPress is an Atom/RSS aggregator for WordPress. It syndicates content from feeds that you choose into your WordPress weblog; if you syndicate several feeds then you can use WordPress’s posts database and templating engine as the back-end of an aggregation (‘planet’) website.”

The article What’s your favorite thing about the 2.7 Beta? and other articles from Techbusiness.com.au are demos of the plugin.

With the syndication plugin, the WordPress site owner has the option to publish the syndicated posts immediately, hold the posts for review, save the posts as drafts or as private posts.

I think we will try the plugin in other experimental sites.

Demo: Contact Form

Below is a contact form generated by Contact Form 7, a WordPress plugin by Takayuki Miyoshi.  The “sales page” of Contact Form 7 states it “can manage multiple contact forms, plus you can customize the form and the mail contents flexibly with simple markup. The form supports Ajax-powered submitting, CAPTCHA, Akismet spam filtering and so on.”

A couple of minutes is all you need to generate this form. Download plugin.
